    Peerify Privacy Policy

    Effective date: 21 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Peerify (peerify.one) collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to us.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller is Social Systems Lab International AB (svb), org.nr 559264-4289, c/o Sevenius & Co AB, Illerstigen 8, 170 71 Solna, Sweden — a non-profit company fully owned by the Social Systems Foundation.

    Contact: hello@peerify.net

    What we collect

    • Account data: name, email address and login information.
    • Profile data: what you choose to add — bio, pictures, links, genres, and your location.
    • Location: shown at city level by default. Your exact location is only shown if you explicitly choose that. When you create a public event, its address is visible to everyone.
    • Activity on Peerify: posts, comments, messages, events and RSVPs, crew membership and offers you make.
    • Photos: we remove hidden location data (GPS) from every photo you upload.
    • Technical data: IP addresses and similar data in our server logs, used for security.

We don't collect special categories of data (such as health or beliefs), we don't sell data, and we don't use advertising trackers.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

    • To provide Peerify — your account, profile, messages, events, crews and offers. Legal basis: our agreement with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
    • To keep Peerify safe — preventing abuse and investigating security problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure platform (Art. 6(1)(f)).
    • To send service emails — such as login links and important notices. Legal basis: our agreement with you.

    Who can see what

    • Everyone: your public profile (name, picture, bio, city-level location), your public posts and public events, including event addresses.
    • Logged-in users: additionally, contact details a venue or artist chooses to add (such as booking email or phone).
    • Only the people involved: private messages. New conversations need an accepted connection.
    • Only you and our administrators: your email address, exact location (unless you choose to show it) and account settings.

    Who we share data with

We use a few service providers who process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements:

    • Cleura AB — hosting, in Stockholm, Sweden (EU). Until our move to Cleura is complete (planned by 30 November 2026), Peerify runs on a server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Helsinki, Finland (EU).
    • Postmark — sending emails. Postmark is operated by ActiveCampaign in the USA; the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which ActiveCampaign is certified.
    • Mapbox — showing maps; your browser connects to Mapbox, which sees your IP address. Mapbox is based in the USA; the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Mapbox is certified.

We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.

    How long we keep it

    • Account and profile data: as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself under Settings → General (or write to hello@peerify.net). Your profile is removed immediately, and the rest of your personal data — posts, comments, messages, events, uploaded files and notifications — within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
    • Server logs: 14 days.
    • Backups: encrypted and kept for up to 30 days.

    Your rights

You can ask us to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@peerify.net and we'll answer within a month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish data protection authority, IMY (imy.se).

    Security

We protect your data with access controls, encryption of backups, minimising what each page shows, and regular reviews. If a security problem affects your data, we'll tell you and, where required, IMY.

    Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you on Peerify before the change takes effect.
